NOPE Meetings

Our virtual meetings are our signature events. Lively and well-run, they provide political insight and first-hand information about battleground states, candidates, grassroots organizing, strategic giving and volunteering. Attendees are given an opportunity to donate directly to featured candidates and groups.

 JUNE 24 MEETING RECAP

On June 24, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger told us that she wants Virginia’a elections to show the entire country that America rejects Trump and MAGA. Joining us from a campaign bus, she urged us to support the largest coordinated campaign in Virginia’s history.

Luis Aguilar of CASA in Action shared that his grassroots organization is already out in the field engaging under-represented voters on issues like housing affordability.

House of Delegate candidates Kimberly Pope Adams (Petersburg area) and Jessica Anderson (Williamsburg area), who are both challenging Republican incumbents as Dems hope to hold their one-seat House majority, explained that they are learning that fear of losing Federal benefits is a potent issue for voters in their districts. They also shared the extraordinary expense of running a competitive campaign ($1.8 to $2.5 million), and explained that early money allows them to be make more strategic choices.

NOPE has supported candidates in every Virginia state election since 2017, and we are going all-in again for 2025. To volunteer, watch our calendar and weekly bulletins. We have a letter-writing opportunity now and will have canvassing options soon. To donate, see our advice on our Donate page.
